What is Ballf?
Ballf is a golf-like ball game in which players throw their ball through an endless variety of courses and obstacles. It's a golf game combined with the versatility of our custom voxel engine. Voxels allow for easy creative level design, creating an endless variety of Ballf courses and levels. The editor allows players to use voxels to build anything they can imagine and turn them into objects and levels. Objects can then be easily placed into levels, allowing for quick level creation. Have you ever wanted to recreate your house or workplace in a virtual environment so that you could setup tricky golf courses? Ok, so probably not, but I bet you are thinking about it now! All objects and levels are highly compressible, making the sharing of levels between friends and communities extremely quick and easy.

Players can compete through multiplayer or LAN, as well as through leaderboards. There will also be a variety of game modes, such as regular golf rules, where the lowest number of strokes wins, a race mode in which only the speed to complete the course matters, trick shots, and an arcade mode in which special abilities or powers can be used to affect the way the Ballf ball interacts with the environment.
The overarching gameplay mechanics involve using the landscape to make strategic throws in order to advance closer to the next hole on a wide variety of course types. Each texture has different properties that effect the way the ball bounces and rolls. The player can also choose from 5 different throw trajectories, ranging from a roll, to an arched throw, and a straight throw. In addition to the trajectory, there are 3 different factors affecting how the ball travels. The Power of the throw, the Accuracy of the throw, and the wind. Ballf has little to no learning curve, making it easy and fun to pick up and play, but is also difficult to master, making it very challenging for competitive players. |

What is the current state of Ballf ?
Ballf is currently still in development and is being built with our own custom voxel engine, which gives us full control over every aspect of our game. The core functionality and gameplay elements are in place, as well as local multiplayer, online leaderboards, and a soundtrack. The main focus in development right now is finishing the online multiplayer, and including steam functionality.
Ballf Screenshots
Here are some screenshots of Ballf in development. Please keep in mind that certain graphics are temporary placeholders. These screenshots are an attempt to show some of the level variety we are striving for, as well as to demonstrate the types of environments players can make.
